80年9月リリースの「強気で愛して」。真意がいかようにも取れそうなタイトルに似合わず、曲調はかなりポップだと思う。全米最高位9位。

確か「Ｇｅｔ　Ｎｅｒｖｏｕｓ」からの３ｒｄシングル。
全米チャート３９位とセールス的には振るわなかったが、
ニューウェイブっぽいアップテンポなナンバーで個人的に
好きでした。
キャッチーなメロディとピコピコ音のキーボードがいかにも
８０’ｓらしいです。

コレを含めて同名異曲が5つほど思い浮かぶけど、女性はパット1人だけ。しかも一番新しい…と言っても79年リリース、翌80年初めに大ヒット。とにかく聴く者に強烈な印象を植え付ける曲だね。

アルバムが最強なら曲は文字通り無敵、下手な軟派ポップスより余程ロックしている。だが現実とは非常なもの、この曲の辛うじてTOP10入りを最後にパットは最前線から遠ざかってしまう。

ベストヒットUSAでこの曲のLIVEがオンエアされましたが、歌詞の字幕スーパーの挑発的なフレーズ(この曲のタイトルがそのままサビのフレーズなのですが、素晴らしく卑猥な翻訳がされていました)に思わず赤面しました。
